Three Ways

Pick the method that suits you.

01

Print the sizer

The most accurate at-home option. Print our sizer at 100% scale, then match a ring you already own to the circles below. Jump to the printable sizer →

02

Measure a ring you own

Take a ring that fits the correct finger. Measure the inside diameter across the middle in millimetres, then match it to the chart. Jump to the size chart →

03

Wrap a string

Wrap a strip of paper or string snugly around the base of the finger. Mark where it overlaps, lay it flat, measure the length in millimetres — that’s your circumference. Match it to the chart.

Printable Sizer

The circle method.

Place a ring that already fits over the circles below. The circle whose outline sits just inside your ring is your size. For this to be accurate, the print must be at actual size.

  1. Click Print this sizer below (or use your browser’s print).
  2. In the print dialog, set Scale to 100% and turn off “Fit to page.”
  3. Check the calibration bar prints exactly 85.6 mm (a credit card’s long edge). If not, adjust scale and reprint.
  4. Rest your ring over the circles until the inside of your band matches a circle’s outline.

Size Chart

US ring size chart.

Match your measured inside diameter or circumference (in mm) to the nearest row. Between two sizes? Size up — a ring that’s slightly loose is easier to wear than one that won’t pass the knuckle.

Planning a Surprise?

How to find their size without asking.

  • Borrow a ring. Take one they already wear on the ring finger and match it to the sizer or chart. Return it before it’s missed.
  • Trace the inside. No time to borrow it? Press the ring into a bar of soap or trace the inner circle on paper, then measure the diameter.
  • Ask a confidant. A close friend or family member often knows — or can find out without raising suspicion.
  • When in doubt, size up. If you have to guess, err slightly large. It’s an easier, faster resize than going the other way — and we’ll help you do it.

Get It Right

A few things that change the fit.

Measure warm, late in the day

Fingers shrink in the cold and swell in the heat. Measure when your hands are at a normal, warm temperature — usually evening — for a true fit.

Mind the knuckle

If your knuckle is much larger than the base of your finger, size to slide over the knuckle, then split the difference so the ring doesn’t spin.

Wide bands fit tighter

A wider band takes up more of the finger and feels snugger. For bands over ~6 mm, consider going up a quarter to a half size.

Measure more than once

Take your measurement two or three times on different days and use the average. A single reading can be off if your hands were cold or swollen.
