Buying an engagement ring online can feel daunting — it's a meaningful purchase, often made sight unseen. But done right, it means more diamond for your budget, full transparency on quality, and none of the markup of a traditional showroom. Here's how it works at Tessera, step by step.
1. Choose your setting
Start with the design — the setting and metal that feel like her. Solitaire, three-stone, pavé, halo; white, yellow, or rose 18K gold. This is the frame your diamond will live in. Browse the full range on our engagement rings page.
2. Select your diamond
Add your diamond — lab-grown or natural, every one GIA- or IGI-certified. You'll see the full grade (the 4Cs) and the final, all-in price before you commit — no guesswork, no pressure. Our ring builder pairs any diamond with any setting so you can see the complete ring and price.
3. We craft it to order
Each ring is made to order, never mass-produced, typically in about 4 to 6 weeks. Because we build only what's ordered — and skip the overhead of a physical store — that value goes into the ring instead of the markup.
4. Delivered, fully insured
Your finished ring ships fully insured, with 30-day returns and a lifetime warranty. See the details on our shipping and returns page. If the size or anything else isn't quite right, we'll make it right.
Why buy online?
You get a larger or finer diamond for the same budget, independent certification on every stone, and the time to choose calmly from home. For a made-to-order ring, a little lead time is a fair trade for a ring that's genuinely yours. Curious who we are? Read a little about Tessera.
